As a Senior Consultant with LEGACY CONSULTING GROUP, Mr. Shalin draws on nearly 30 years experience in revenue cycle management, physician practice/group management, electronic medical records and practice management systems, and strategic business development and planning. His clients include large multi-site hospital systems, large and small physician groups, corporate-owned medical groups, integrated diagnostic testing facilities, community and private mental health facilities, comprehensive outpatient rehabilitation facilities, home health agencies, nursing homes, independent laboratories, non-profit entities, IPA/CINs, and rural health clinics. His areas of expertise include practice management development, revenue cycle enhancement, electronic medical record and practice management integration, and billing service performance improvement.
Mr. Shalin is the current owner of Practice Doctors, LLC , a medical practice management consulting firm specializing in revenue cycle management enhancements and recoveries, as well as most other practice administrator functions. Mr. Shalin has been instrumental in bringing millions in additional revenues to practices both from current operations/receivables and strategic business development efforts. Prior to consulting on healthcare services, he was a Business Office Manager for a large Level I Trauma Center responsible for all ambulatory services where he performed a complete financial turnaround on collection performance in this area. He has also been a Practice Manager/Centralized Billing Office Manager throughout his career in both for-profit and non-profit entities with constant success regardless of structure, systems, or staffing. His consulting experience began as a revenue cycle enhancement expert for a mid-sized CPA firm in Florida with his first assignment involving development of the financial case that led to the first successful multi-million dollar judgement in the country against a national billing service for under-performance of contract services.
Mr. Shalin has presented for multiple medical associations and other medical industry participants, as well as being published in both local and national medical publications.
Mr. Shalin holds an undergraduate degree from the Peter T. Paul College of Business and Economics (f/k/a Whittemore School of Business) at the University of New Hampshire.
